San Antonio ISD (SAISD) Academy 7v7 Rules
1. Game Rosters
1.1. Rosters will be supplied to the referee prior to the start of the match. Must list all player names & number and the names of all coaches.
2. Playing Rules
2.1. Team on the field shall consist of seven (7) players (including the goalie). Minimum number of players to start is six (6) and continue a game is five (5).
2.2. Home team is responsible for providing two game balls.
2.3. Start of play: the opposing team must stand a minimum of 10 yards away on their half of the field outside of the center circle. Restarts and kickoffs may go in any direction.
2.4. Unlimited substitutions on a dead ball for either team. No subs “on the fly”. Substitutes must have the referee’s permission before stepping onto the field.
2.5. One referee per game will be used.
2.6. Game shall consist of two (2) twenty-five (25) minute halves with a five (5) minute half time. If a team is shorthanded on players, and if both coaches agree, each half shall be twenty (20) minutes with the same five (5) minute half time. Clock operator will keep the time for both games on the same clock for both fields if both are playing the same length halves. If one field is playing a shorter half than the other field, the referee will keep the time on the game with the shorter half.
2.7. A forfeit occurs and the game ends after one or both teams are unable to field a minimum of five (5) players to continue the game.
2.8. The penalty area will be the entire width of the field extending ten (10) yards from the end line.
2.9. Penalty kicks will be taken from the penalty mark which will be ten (10) yards from the goal line.
2.10. Tiebreakers: If a game is tied at the end of regulation time, then the game will go to Penalty Kicks in the following manner: 2 kickers for each team. If still tied after the 2 kicks for each team, then there will be 1 additional kick for each team. If the game is still tied after the third kick, there will be no more kicks and the game will end as a tie.
3.1. Every player must wear a numbered jersey (except the goalkeeper). All jerseys must be the same.
3.2. Shin guards are mandatory and must be covered. All players on the field must wear shin guards.
3.4. Players without proper equipment will asked to leave the field to correct the problem and cannot return until the referee is satisfied.
5. Field Supervision
5.1. SAISD will provide an administrator at the complex for the 4 fields.
